A shoutout to commemorate our country's Independence. May we have a brighter and more peaceful future for us, our children and our children's children. May we all strive to make it happen where one day we will be like other multi-racial countries who live in peace and harmony, respectful and tolerant of each other.
Allow me to recite the Rukunegara from the top of my head:
Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan
Kesetiaan kepada Raja dan Negara
Keluhuruan Perlembagaan
Kedaulatan Undang-Undang
Kesopanan dan Kesusilaan

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!
I decided to go have dinner on my own after work today. I drove to 1 Utama because it was the nearest mall around. Well there is Atria but nothing much to see there. Surprisingly, I managed to find a parking by the entrance in the new wing. Since I was by myself I decided to go eat wherever the I wanted to and nobody was around to say anything about it. The only problem was that I did not know what to have for dinner. While walking around I could not help but notice this girl staring at me. In fact if I did not know any better, I could have sworn she was following me a fair bit while I was walking around. Of course she tried not to make herself obvious but I am not blur. Being myself the one who is never afraid of confronting people, I decided to turn around and walk up to her to ask what was up. When I went up to her, I was going to start my sentence with "Is there a prob..." That was when I realized that she was rather cute which caused me to trip all over myself with my words. I felt like a right idiot there and then. There I was trying to be all cool and smart when one look into her eyes just rendered me dumb. Silent dumb and retarded dumb. She looked like was expecting me to say something with her eyes looking at me while her hands were clenched held up to her chin. I stuttered and struggled to form the few words "Uh... is there something wrong?"
She looked at me with an expression as though she did not imagined my voice to sound the way it was. She gave a sheepish smile while looking nervously everywhere but at me and said, "I wanted to find out if it was true... That you're a celebrity..."
My heart skipped a beat. What the heck!? Who told her that? Who would have the audacity to deceive this poor girl like that? Moreover, how could she have believed such a story? Hundreds of questions were cycling through my mind at that very second but I had to get back to reality. I snapped out of it and smiled rather dumbly and politely denied that I was in anyway a celebrity let alone related to the show business industry at all. Telling her this, I expected her to be only a little disappointed and that she would just forget all about it, releasing me from her life, foregoing that I ever existed where life goes on despite the fact.
"No! Don't lie to me! I am not stupid! I will not believe such an obvious lie! You're just saying that to hide yourself so that you don't make a scene and attract unwanted attention!"
At that point of time she was right. I did want to hide myself away from the world because she was making a scene and people were starting to stare at us wondering what harm have I caused this girl. This girl who was so convinced that I was denying to be somebody famous who is trying avoid her and the public by any means. Not to draw anymore attention from people who seemed like they were going to send me to the police station after they had their fun of dishing out 'justice' on me whom they think had hurt the girl in some way, I brought her to the benches which were outside one of the bathrooms to explain to her properly. It was usually quiet there. Nobody would want to hang out around a public bathroom area.
I looked at her with with a rather annoyed and serious expression wanting to tell her once and for all that she surely has mistaken me for somebody else. As I looked at her, she had this defiant look and her eyes were welling up with tears. That broke my heart instantly, sapping whatever strength that was left in me and left me numb for the moment. She looked so adorably cute with that look on her face that it melt my heart. Trying not to protect myself from being made vulnerable by her look, I faced down to the floor told her, "I am sorry but I am not the person you think I am."

Rush Hour 3
Oh before I forget.... if you have a copy of today's (27th August 2007) The Star newspaper. Check out page N19. You will see my latest work printed there! Yes I am proud of it!
* * * * *
I guess I am slowly adapting to having time out with friends while having a job. Went to 1 Utama today to have dinner and a movie with Marcus. Marcus, my high school best friend until now, Marcus. Not any other Marcuses. He brought me FHM and Zoo from Australia woohoo! He is always cool enough to drive around nyahaha. I guess he enjoys driving, having the mobility to get around whenever he wants. Of course it is plenty a motivation when one has a beemer.
So we had our usual humor about stuff like the way how things are here, over dinner at Nippon Yataimura. I have not been feeling too well for these couple of days which is causing me the loss of appetite. I had the chicken katsu don which was a little too salty to my liking. I guess that is their method of making it 'tasty'. Marcus being himself was unable to finish his food. Unfortunately I had trouble finishing mine as well else I would have without a second thought, helped him with his.
Me being the time freak was being uncomfortable about how late we were going to be for the movie while Marcus being experienced(he has more of a social life than I do) was in no rush and knew that we would make it before the movie started. He was right. Stupid commercials lasts from 20 minutes to 30 minutes before the feature presentation.
The show was not bad. However it lacked the fullness of the previous two movies. Although it had its hits, definitely had noticeable misses. Some of which were just too cliche and predictable. Of course what never fails are their witty jokes and one/two liners which most movie goers here would never get. The ending credits were sort of a comfort or consolation to me which I always looked forward to after the story ends. Even that was sort of toned down. I guess it comes with aging where you can only go so far with the same materials before it becomes desaturated.
Oh well, we plan to watch Evan Almighty next before this week ends. Hopefully I can drag Shawn along as well. Then we will have our little World of Warcraft real life meet. Hahahaiamsuchanerd...

Lethal Looks
Ever heard sayings which are in the lines of 'Looks that can kill'? It is true in some cases. Especially in the news as of late. A couple of cases of which guys fight over girls to the extent where they result in serious injuries and would need hospitalization or even murder.
Pride and lust make a very deadly duo. The intensity of one's lust fuels their pride creating a extreme desperation to go all out on getting what one wants. Be careful when playing the hard to get game. Be careful not to expose yourself warranting unwanted attention from the wrong people. Most of all do not snub them with prejudice. People with bigger ego tend to react more violently when exploded. Kind of like a big ass balloon with highly reactive/explosive gas. The bigger the ego is, the more hurt when it is pricked. I knew some people who would even go all out including losing their own lives if it meant restoring their 'honor'. I guess that is how they plan people to always remember them; overzealous till death regarding their faces.
Back to the subject on looks. Some people may be able to achieve visual pleasant'ness but lack the brains to manage it. Also known as the airheaded bimbos(was that redundant?).
I guess less than attractive people could consider it as a convenient reason of having low probability of getting into trouble with unwanted parties.

The Week of Merdeka!
Well honestly, I am more excited about getting my salary this week more than anything. Of course also I will be glad to celebrate 'around 50 years' of independence and more importantly peace between citizens of respective race and religion. However I will write more on that in a few days time when it will be more appropriate.
Well my pay may sound good to most people especially since it is my first serious permanent job. However I do plan on giving a portion back as tithes and also to my dad as token of respect and appreciation for what he has done for me all my life. I plan to do this monthly. This would scale up if ever my salary increases as well. In time I wish to be earning enough to be able to give a little something back to those who have looked after me and cared for me. Those who have ensured that I would have a future even if it meant them giving up their comfort and savings. I will strive to give my appreciation the best I can.
God has truly blessed my family despite the trials we have gone through as a family. I can only continue thanking Him and trusting Him with my life for He knows best for me.

Citizens!
I can understand people who will not take the time out of their busy lives to help a stranger in need. With all the dishonest people out there trying to deceive innocent people out of their possessions. What is wrong with the country we live in today?
Has gaining material possessions become so highly sought after that causing others grief a worthwhile? I would not consider myself to have been brought up properly by those who should be responsible of doing so. I am not blaming them either. However I want to point out that despite having little guidance or lack thereof in life, I still managed to think for myself in terms of living day to day without having the intentions of wanting to benefit myself at the cost of others’ inconvenience.
A while back, I was challenged with this question, “Would you help a stranger you see along your way?” I wish I could quickly responded positively but then second thoughts came in where some people pretend to be in need and once they manage to secure a victim, would mercilessly rob them or even worse things. These days with so many crimes being reported in the news. It only makes people more aware of how cruel the world can be. It makes everyone more alert and even paranoid to the extent where they will not trust anybody in the streets even when the strangers obviously pose no threat. How can one be a good Samaritan without the thought of getting jumped? And the only ‘wrong’ the Samaritan did was go out of their way to help the supposed person in need.
The older people who can influence the young should educate them in becoming good and respectful citizens. Letting them know the reasons and consequences of their actions. As weak as it sounds, children do remember words of older ones especially their parents. Assuming these kids are intelligent and actually use their brains once in a while. If the kids do not listen to their parents’ wisdom, then the parents fail in educating their children in proper ways and respect.
My close friends will know that I often reiterate that I do my best to live by the saying “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” If one looks at the sentence deeply, one will find many aspects as to how it will benefit one’s self as well as one’s relationship with others. This is the part where I become a jerk and will not elaborate further. However those who are interested in knowing more of what I say are always welcomed to message me.
Another good saying that I actually learnt from a movie is “Be The Miracle”. It is from the movie Bruce Almighty. If everyone would actually start thinking about helping others, the world would be a much better place. Also quoting from one of the books I read years ago about romantic relationships. There is no such thing as finding the right person. Instead it should be _being the right person_. The reason why the world today is deteriorating ethically is due to almost everybody thinking of themselves. Thinking as to how benefit themselves and only themselves. If you are nice to others they will be nice in return. Except for some ungrateful assholes and bitches. Also if you are unpleasant to others, they will respond in kind.
How then can we make other people’s lives around us a little bit better? For starters you could greet people you see or even say thank you when they help you with stuff. It may not sound like a big deal, but the kind thoughts will power the gesture and it will be felt by the recipient and in turn create a synergy between the both of you which in turn will develop a better relationship. Although it may sound weird coming from me, but smiling is a very powerful ability. When you smile, others will smile in reflex. I used to have to smile whenever I meet anybody in Australia because that is how their culture is; being polite to everyone regardless of personal issues if any with the other. Guys, open doors for girls and let them walk first. Girls, be ladylike and give guys some ‘face’ and let them perform their role as gentlemen. Its like I am already programmed to always let girls go first whether its queuing to enter an elevator or through a doorway.
Coming back to Malaysia just sucked out all the positive’ness I accumulated while in Australia. So now I am more annoyed with the general populace in this country. Hmm maybe that is somewhat too large of a scope. I should say the people that I come across.
