It is nearing the end of the year, where the country experiences, what I would like to call "Malaysian Winter". Of course it wouldn't snow, though I wish it would, but it rains almost everyday and the sky is dark and cloudy.
"Now hold on!" You might say. Wondering why I would enjoy the darkness of the atmosphere as oppose to most people preferring a bright sunny day. Well it's pretty simple in that a sunny day has high probabilities of it being hot. I hate the heat. Who likes the heat? Burning up and sweating. Such a hindrance and inconvenience getting through the day... and night. Yes I am one of those really rare people that still has no air conditioner in my room.
Let me break it down for you. Rain and darkness. Why I like it.
The rain comes down on everyone without prejudice, being a blessing or curse to all of us. Most people would complain about it causing them problems like traffic jams and floods. If you really think about it, the rain does not cause jams and floods. It is the poorly planned "development" of the country that caused this. Think of the rain as showing the failures of the "system".
The rain clears the air of dirt and pollution, allowing us to breathe freely of clean crisp air. The air that is free, for you and me. It releases the heat trapped on the ground into the air cooling the temperature around us, providing a refreshing yet relaxing feeling of comfort, especially when we sleep.
Then comes the darkness. The darkness covers everything with the absence of light. Hiding every detail perceivable by the eyes. Which includes the ugliness and imperfections of people on their actions. Concealing them from view, allows for focus on other things which are more pleasurable to one's self. Just like the state of having the eyes closed, but this time having the same effect without needing to close the eyes. More power to those who are adapt at making their way through the dark. Familiarizing themselves with the way things are and not what the eyes perceive them to be.
It's beginning to feel like the most wonderful time of the year.
