A Week in the Life

Lot's of new stuff happened this week. Discovered new experiences. One which required me to dress formally. So here you go, bought myself a new pair of shoes. *Cough* Zizou *cough*...

Felt like a clown walking in huge shoes or scuba flippers. People actually told me they could see I was uncomfortable in formal attire. No shit. Let me lose some kilos first please.

Also tried the old set lunch at the new premise.

Despite its small size, it was just right. It tasted great as well! Will definitely go back for more. Just look at the size of the plate!

The stuff you see on the rump steak is actually the butter they gave with the entree bread. Since I did not use the entire butter for the bread, I applied the remaining butter on my main course, which I may add, was a good addition. The last time I had steak from this place was almost a decade ago. In their old place, the refillable drinks used to come in a small glass and they were always too lazy to refill it despite the old place being smaller. This new place use proper cups, fortunately.

The Truth In Trolleys

I walk a little going to and from work. Ever since Tropicana Mall opened beside my office's block, there have been many assholes who use the Carrefour (the anchor tenant) trolleys all the way to the overhead bridge nearby and abandon them there. I really hate people that do not return what they use to their proper places. It shows how inconsiderate and unimportant everything else is, everything but themselves. This just reminds me of how humans in general can be so despicable. It just renews my hatred towards people.

However, a twist of "fate" happened twice when I was using the overhead bridge. The first time, I noticed a man actually saw the trolley while he was walking and decided to push it all the way back to the mall, returning it. I was actually moved by that humble yet very powerful gesture. The second time around was on my way home today. I saw a family on their way to the mall and I observed that the father of the family noticed the trolley and decided to wheel it back the mall as well. I heard his wife discouraging him to do so. Admirably, he did not listen to her and put one of his daughters on the kid seat of the trolley and pushed it all the way to the mall. Seeing that just reminded me that not everybody are assholes.

However I still think majority of people are assholes.

Anyways the point I wanted to make (for you dense people) was that the trolley, an object that helps carry the burden of people, not only show people's dependency on help. It also reveals how despicable people are just as how it can reveal their kindness.

Do not limit materialistic objects to what they were made to do.

I was in the locker room of the gym today where I was changing. When I was changing into my shorts, I noticed I was wearing the wrong shoes to gym. Sigh... No vigorous movements for me tonight.

Keep Skin

Some people really have no idea of the situation they are in and still think they have rights to demand things.

As a disclaimer to you dumb people, that I am not being racist when I talk about what is coming next. I just read in the news that Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu is unhappy that he did not get a minister post in the government's new cabinet line up.

I think it was pretty pathetic that he actually tried to get others involved in his problem. He stated that there was only one MIC (Malaysian Indian Congress) representative as a main minister and two others as deputy ministers. He even went as far as to drag in the Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, saying that if Koh could be made a senator and a minister, that he should have been accorded the same privilege.

That is a contradicting use of the word. A privilege is given to a person not necessarily deserving it. The way he speaks is as if he should be given a position for what is due to him. As a young citizen of this country, I may not have as much "experience" as others claim to have, but my ability of basic logical sense would say this...

  1. In the many years of unsatisfaction shown by the people of his performance
  2. his failure to convince the people, especially only through verbal means
  3. his failure to even help his own community, the Indians, which now are tired and distrustful of him
  4. members in his own party wishing for him to step down

You would think that would be more than hints for him to just back off. I would think with the "earnings" he has over the years, he would be wise to quit while he is ahead before tripping over something that will cause a greater loss.

No. Instead, he demands a position in the new government's line up. Personally speaking, I have not really read any articles of him detailing his accomplishments for the country and for his community. In fact, when the mention of tolls ripping people off comes into mind, the first name that usually appears is his. Only until recently when the Opposition party's members (Tony Pua being one of them! Woot!) were pushing their propositions on lifting the burden off the people when it comes to tolls, that the government said that they would look into it.

After that only did the MCA suddenly "took initiative" to present their suggestions as to how do the same albeit with a lacklustre method compared to that of the Opposition's.

Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu speaks as if the Indians are not represented in the new cabinet line up, when there is a fair number, though not necessarily from MIC itself. Which should not be the problem at all since they are all under the same coalition which is Barisan Nasional.

The ruling government always talks about the disunity in the Opposition's coalition. What about this then? At least the Opposition still support each other and respect the decisions made because they know that it is for the greater good of the people and the country. As shown in the previous political events where even DAP and PAS publicly showed support for each other despite their different polarities.

Examples being that the non-Malays actually voted for PAS in the recent by-election at Bukit Gantang, uniting together to stand against a common foe. The PAS spiritual leader even supported and encouraged a DAP representative regarding the latter reciting lines from the Quran. Of course all the shroud of lies that we have been fed during the school days have been dispelled thanks to likes of independent writers and news providers. Especially Raja Petra Kamaruddin.

I hope that the people of this country will see educating themselves as a constant, a way of life. Knowledge is power. Use your wisdom and knowledge to determine what is truth and what is false. Do not take the words of others easily for yourself without first understanding and finding out if its true. Heck this is one of the simple facts of life. Sadly many people are unaware.
