Doing A Lot With A Little

I came across this music video which was remarkable. It is of Greg Laswell with the song How The Day Sounds. A few things that caught my attention and impressed me was not only Elijah Wood being in it. They also managed to produce a good video with such limited props and location. The location being a grocery mart. The direction of the video as well as the choreography of the moves were pretty amusing too.

Magazine Debut Mix Up

So the latest issue of a local magazine just came out. They got my picture mixed up with another guy. Now the whole world will think that guy is me! If his picture was good looking and stuff, I wouldn't mind so much... but now my face is making someone else look good. I think they also dumbed down my article and titled it inaccurately...

What is up with that anyway? I remember submitting my article with my name in it as well as my photo labeled with my name on it.

Jizz in My Pants

The Lonely Island came up with a video that had Justin Timberlake... I just found it interesting because he did a cameo. Apparently this video is somewhat of a sequel to Dick in A Box.

Lackluster Chicken

Another American fast food franchise has opened in Malaysia! Well it is not really new. They used to have one in Ipoh but apparently that one closed down. Popeye's Chicken has opened in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. It has replaced the tenancy of Shakey's Pizza.

The picture quality above wasn't so great as I was rushing to take it as it was raining and I did not wait until the focusing finished.

Which is quite ironic as Shakey's belongs to the same group as KFC and is situated right across the street.

Nothing that special about the interior. Their menu is somewhat limited though. Although they have a big ass sign outside which says 'Chicken & Seafood'. The only thing I noticed that would fit the latter category was their Fish Rice Bowl and Fish Sandwich. Although American menu does have a seafood platter. Maybe I missed it.

I opened the box to make sure I got what I ordered. It was the 3 piece combo which had 3 pieces of chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and a biscuit (the North American term) and a regular coke.

This is what it looks like opened. Here is my review of the meal.

The first thing I usually eat with a set like this is the coleslaw. The coleslaw taste somewhat fresh, the kind of crispness and texture you'd get when you order coleslaw from places like Dave's Deli.

The mashed potatoes had a more spice and herb flavored sauce which was unlike your typical brown sauce that other places serve. The texture of the potato was slightly rough where you could feel some bits in it. This to me was a good sign that the potato was not reproduced from a powder substance. The texture, pre-mashing also was similar to the taro cake (wu tao go).

The biscuit had a taste and texture a whole lot similar to scones, except a little more dense and this particular one was a little too salty for my taste. I was expecting more of a bland taste to "neutralize" the tastiness (or saltiness) of the chicken.

Finally, the chicken which is the main show of the set was just underwhelming. It has a choice of two flavors being mild or spicy. I chose mild because I wanted to start with their "regular" or "original" first. The chicken tasted pretty ordinary. It tasted like the fried chicken you could get from Malay eateries or even the one from the Korean place, BBQ Chicken. Perhaps their specialty is in their spicy flavor.

Overall... the chicken was okay, for now anyways since it is new, you can be assured their chicken are fresh and not oil soaked. So get it as early as you can to get your money's worth... for what it's worth.

Try it for yourself!

Commentary of Random Images

Took a few images and feel the need to waste space on the internet.

Some pathetic loser actually wrote a contact number on the walls of one of the shops in 1 Utama. He even got the number wrong...

Here we have chocolate(Kirby) and coffee(Speedy).

A good amount of drinks to help me through a wedding dinner. On the left was a mix of coke and beer. The middle was just tea which I did not really drink and the right was pure beer to numb out the some of the on goings on the stage.

Tropicana City opened not too long ago and it's right beside my office block. They just opened and it seems that they already have ran out of break.

Curse of Competence

Yes... I do feel like these most of the time. Ever since I started working, I feel I could relate more.

Keyframe

Another year has come and gone, another year has started. Just like every other year, it is basically a time frame or a bracket set on the uncertain length of a line which we call life. See if I can put it in a picture.

----[2007][2008][2009]----?

Some people always look forward to "practicing" new years' resolutions. I look forward to them giving up on it. Look it at as a win-win situation. If they managed to successfully pull through, good on them as they gained something, if they don't then I amused by knowing they couldn't. Everybody wins something. Don't be hating. I am just making the best of Murphy's Law. Don't hate the player. It's the game... of life.
