100th Post and 2 Phones

Yes I have managed to reach my one hundredth post without much difficulty or inconsistency. There is just so much to write about. So many thoughts, so many views, so many opinions. Yet so limited time, so limited options.

I have spotted two more technological devices that have won me over just by reading about their vague information and images. Introducing the Nokia N81 and N82. This time around it sort of fulfills my criteria mainly the first being a monoblock phone, none of that flippy, twisty, rotating shit.

This baby right here has a built in 8gb flash drive, probably the same type they used for the iPod touch. Has a 2 megapixel camera, which does not really matter to me because I do not believe in capturing full on photos with a phone camera. Oh it has a 3.5mm headphone port to it which means I can plug in my own headphones and have better sounds. Two of my concerns of the phone is that it slides, I am not sure if the mechanism on this phone will be sturdy and also I cannot really make out if this phone has a secondary camera, you know for 3G video calls.



This N82 is oh so beautiful... it is white! It offers a 5 megapixel camera with a bright flash this time around. However it does not give priority to music lovers whereby it has no mention of the availability of a 3.5mm port and no built in mass storage so I would have to get a micro SD which of course will not be able to compare in terms of storage size of N81. There will be people that comment on the N82 trying to look like the Sony Ericsson models but meh... Nokia also made the N76 similar to the Motorola RAZR. If they improve on the originals, I have no complains. People have speculated for these babies to be released sometime during the final quarter of this year. If it is going to cost a whole lot more than the current N95, I definitely will not be having it at the top of my wishlist.

"Looking for a Boyfriend"

... is the thread title I saw at a local online community. Me being a nosy bugger who just have to go scrutinize stuff in the name of analysis and research, had to check the scene. Apparently this person who claims that she is a girl much to others' belief, posted a simple sentence that she was looking for a boyfriend.

What was hilarious is that the thread reached up to 34 pages, of course with local forums people tend to have difficulties collecting their thoughts and putting it down in one single post. So they have to split up sentences in a few different posts but that was not the point. The point is there are actually people responding to the request of that person. I then navigated to the forum section where that thread was created. I was amused to find other threads with titles having to do with finding out about if a person is spending too much on their girlfriends or even like a girlfriend asking the ex boyfriend to return the items she bought for him or vice versa. Authors would make a fortune writing guide for numbnuts regarding relationships. On second thought the locals would be either too cheap to buy a book and also probably have difficulty reading. If only life was so convenient whereby looking for a partner was as easy as going online searching for one, trying it out and hit it off. Well it is actually possible especially in western countries and the great usage of MySpace or even f***book, or facef**k. I know of people who actually got laid via MySpace but that is not for me to detail.

The Dinner Show s01e02

While being bored at work I got an sms from Marcus wanting to hang out tonight so yeah why not since I suspected there was a server maintenance for a new patch anyway. We went again to the usual nearby and convenient (for me at least) 1 Utama for dinner and a movie. We ate at Carl's Jr. It has been a long while since I had my fix from there. They definitely are beginning on the downsizing of the portions of food. I believe that they did not include a full cheese spread in the burgers this time around and also the portion is somewhat less. Thankfully I do not go there often.

God never fails to amaze me. Everytime I give and give I still find that I have more than I expected in my savings. Of course I do not give with the thought of a reward in return. However I do remember that God will not forsake those that bless others, one way or the other. Conveniently the method which I can do best at the moment is to give people things that they need/require or maybe things they truly want through whatever meager earnings I have.

Anyways back to the main story. We watched Chuck & Larry. It is about two best of friends willing to sacrifice their lives for each other. They go beyond ordinary boundaries to help each other out putting their reputation and image on the line while using it to help others'. What I like about the movie was that they made it funny and yet not offensive to the gay community. They manage to veer of areas which may have proven to be sensitive or questionable. Kudos to Adam Sandler in developing his mad skills in film over time. Kevin James was also great in this movie. If only he could do more movies in the future I am sure he will only get better. I did not get a chance to enjoy his previous film Hitch where he was co-starring alongside Will Smith.

Reading is Good for Who?

I remember back in school days, adults and teachers always encouraged the younger ones like myself to read more. Especially newspapers. Supposedly to keep with the times, being aware of what goes on in the world in order to be more prepared I guess. I am not sure how it was back then but these days, the newspapers and other 'sources' of information are rigged. Not in a sense that the news are made up, but the source providers determine the information which are to be provided to the readers. In a way they control the masses. They decide what to tell the people, changing the way they perceive the world and also averting their attention to certain issues possibly to distract them while trying to avoid other matters which may be more pressing.

I have noticed a similar pattern in the making of the news since 10 years ago when I decided to read newspapers seriously. Whenever there is a dangerous issue regarding the way how the country is being run, it all seems to dissipate rather nicely followed by a barrage of other type of news. I will take sexual assault as an instance. Every now and then there will be a flurry of sexual assault related news in the newspapers that would last for an amount of time. Of course this makes everybody more careful. I guess the current 'trend' now are paedophiles. You will notice that after a major and brutal incident that similar news have been appearing all over the news.

I am not condemning what is being published but rather would prefer it if they did not just fixate on one particular type of criminal activity like a seasonal thing. Publishing lots of articles regarding one particular type of criminal activity does not necessarily mean that it is the in thing in the country that potential criminals are doing. It especially does not mean that there are not other crimes happening, like murder and corruption.

I get irritated when people speak as if they are so well informed of what goes on in the world. They say things like "Nowadays, there are a lot of rape going on ohh..." As if it does not happen every other time it is not published in the news? Hence I reiterate that reading does not make a person better or refined. A person can be given things to help make things better, but also he can use it for his own selfish purposes and even at the cost of others.

The Dinner Show

I just came back from dinner with Marcus. I hope you all should know by now which Marcus I am referring to. Now see here is a guy I can talk on hours end with about stuff that is not mindless jock talk about cars or sports or chick banging.

I treated him to dinner this time around for sort of like a congratulations to him who just came back from Perth (again) for his graduation ceremony as well as appreciation for the magazines he imports for me from over the Aussieland. Yeah I know I am a cheap bastard. However my generosity tends to scale with my income. So yeah I bless others when I am blessed. At dinner, there was a couple who looked younger than me sitting one table away on my left. I did not get a good look at them because I was looking from the corner of my eye. I could make out their gestures but not the details. The guy was like stroking either the girl's arm or side of the head downwards. I was like "what on earth is this guy doing? It's hilarious!" later on they were quiet holding each other's hand. Yes one hand for one hand, saying nothing. You might think that is so cute or romantic. I thought it was pretty funny. I thought it was kind of unnatural. I think it is pretty weird and awkward to just suddenly do stuff like that especially when the guy had to reach over the table to show affection. It looked like he was trying too hard. Marcus said he was 'spreading it thick'. Oh well... kids. I was holding my head blocking my face from letting anybody see me laughing. I am that kind of person when I see something peculiar, my mind tends to bring things to the next level exacerbating the situation in my head which eventually makes me laugh.

So after dinner we had coffee...'ish drinks. Marcus then asked me why I was laughing at the couple. I then explained, which led us to talk about relationships the situations and how to react to them and also the reasonings behind them. It was more of a discussion and analysis based on the basic human behavior in whatever experience I have at least. I am sure most of you know that communication is important in a relationship. However if either sides cannot be open to each other, it means that they do not trust each other well enough which means that they do not know each other well. If they do not know each other well, then the relationship is in for a 'fun' time. Lack of communication leads to miscommunication which leads to misunderstanding. Blablabla the so on and so forth with fries on the side. Which means they are not ready for a relationship. Kind of like saving up money to buy the car, but not taking into consideration the cost of maintaining the car.

I speak as if I know so much about relationships. If so, why am I still single? It is because of such knowledge that I am still single. I will not rush into just any relationship for the sake of having one. It has to be a person who can really understand me and accept me for who I truly am, not who they want me to be. It is really difficult to find that kind of person, especially a person such as myself who tends not to hide my true personality in hopes of not tarnishing my image with the opposite gender. Perfect or near perfect people are the ones you should be suspicious . Nobody is perfect. So before you go falling for that ideal person, you should observe and get to know that person more, what is that person like when he/she is not trying to impress people and trying to make a good impression. Can you really live with a person who is not all that? I may be boring some readers with stuff they already may already know so I will stop here. So after ranting about the fansubbers being active for whatever reason and talking about it to my friend Bee Lee over lunch today. I come home to see one episode of one of my favorable anime from a fansub has been uploaded! YAAAARGH!

Oh yeah about lunch, I went to have lunch with Bee Lee today. He came by and picked me up and we went to Atria to eat. The original plan was to go SS2 but that place is jam-fucked with cars during lunch hour and I never liked that place due to that being one of the many reasons. We did not really had much time to talk but yeah it was still great to see he was still alive after a long while.

We talked about animes of course and he told me some rather... I do not know if I should call it good news. You know the anime I mentioned in a previous post regarding some guy who liked a girl, got his close girl friend to get her for him and then when he had her, he cheated on her with his close girl friend? Yeah well... apparently there is a good ending where he got what was coming to him. Not so good for other people who were not him though... oh well... You cannot have everything I guess. More over I am glad that it has finally ended thus ending the agony of having to follow such a sad story. Although I wish the fansub would hurry the hell up in subbing them already.
